Arion Rogers Shoot

So one day I was sitting in english class,

and occasionally we would have notes from the office delivered to the class by TA's.
Thats when I saw Arion.

She was tall, she looked like she was black mixed with something. But she was incredibly beautiful!
I thought to myself, "Why don't I ever see her." She did go to my elementary school, but after that I never saw her again.

Turns out she is very quite at first. I had to give a mutual friend my card to have Arion text me so I can ask her if she wanted to do a photoshoot.

Well one thing led to another and it was the day of the photoshoot.

Of course Tiffany Abeyta had done all of the hair and make-up, and Niki Bhardwaj had styled the shoot.

It was a perfect combination to put together a phenomenal sequence of photographs.

Take a look,

Ironically she was also interested in pursuing modeling so everything was perfect.

This location was at a damn in Montebello,
and trust me it wasn't the best time for me considering the circumstances.

Lets just say during hair and make-up time I was eating a lot of salami and my body digests food incredibly fast. And we had to walk about half a mile across the damn to get to the specific location, and we were fighting for sunlight. I don't know if you understand yet what was going on with me, but lets just say I was in a pesty mood.

Overall it was successful and fun, despite the complication with my stomach.

update!

Figures I would never actually keep up with this blog.

Last post was in March? and its July.

Well due to the fact I don't know how to upload pictures on my website, its rather out-of-date.
I need to figure that out, its such a pain to show professionals old work that do not represent me well.

Anyway,

Three photoshoots, I think have, past since the Twins.

The first was Sam Farrier's shoot. At the time I was under the impression that photographers can work for modeling agencies, so I inquired to shoot for one thinking that they would put me on a list and hire me. Thats not how it works.

Q Modeling Agency had responded and wanted to let me use one of their models for what is known as a Test Photoshoot. This is where photographers borrow a model from a modeling agency, usually the model is new, and does a free photoshoot for them. This enables the photographer and the model to the build their portfolio. Which I did not know at the time.

Anyway, I was planning the shoot with the representative via email. I was going to shoot one male and one female model from that agency.

So Sam Farrier was the first model. The location was in Pasadena, City Hall. I don't know if you have ever been there but it is beautiful, the architecture and the mood makes you feel like your in a different country.

I'm not a fan of male models just wearing underwear and having a nice body, so I thought suits & vests was adequate enough.

I gave him my glasses to work with and it actually turned out very well. He's pictures came out better when he was wearing the glasses as oppose to when he wasn't.

See for yourself.

This is him without sunglasses, which turned out pretty good as well.

problem was, when i sent it into the agency, they said,

"Hey Brandon, we are still going through them, but thank you for sending them. Also, for future reference we can’t use any images with sunglasses."

So that was pretty awesome.
All that and they can't even use it? blah.

So last friday I did a photoshoot for my friend, Niki Bhardwaj, who is an aspiring stylist & fashion journalist in the fashion industry. She asked me If I can photograph, our friends Brea and Brithney Buchanan who are twin sisters. She wanted to style them using their clothes and analyze their clothing on her fashion blog.

So we spent some time putting together the dates and planning everything out with Tiffany (H&MU) and thus came friday. We took a long time getting ready and eventually got on location at 5:30 which left us with 2 hours to shoot. Which is absolutely no time whatsoever. I wasn't too happy considering that we didn't really get to use the entire location as planned.

So we got there and immediately began taking pictures. Brea was very confident and she doesn't care what people think of her, and her personality reflected in the strength of her modeling in her pictures. She absolutely has talent and the ability to do modeling. She has emotion and depth and it was refreshing. This was her best solo picture,

Britheny Buchanan was not as confident as Brea, that also reflected in the pictures. However when she did get emotion into some poses the pictures came out well. Besides that, I think she makes for a unbelievable good cover girl. She is a gorgeous girl and has unique features for commercial modeling, because of how pretty and relate-able she is. This is her best solo picture.

overall the shoot when incredibly well, everything was organized well and smoothly. Despite the the length of time spent at the house prior to the shoot.

this is their best picture together.

neglection

I've recently been neglecting my blog and I've had quite the amount of photoshoot lately,
so lets get caught up.

First after Amita, I had a photoshoot with Kevin Bachar and Cassie Daniels, two young kids who go to my school and needed pictures for their headshots.

It was a major shoot, maybe about 30 minutes and it was at English Springs park.

hazel

my favorite picture of the day and quite frankly she is an incredible person.

Then i had a photoshoot with Tiffany Abeyta, and if you don't already know she has been my hair and make-up person for three occasions already. She is really good at what she does and she is gorgeous. She knows how to model AND do hair and make-up. So we went to the LA Zoo and took pictures.

it was funny but it sucked because a lot of the animals were gone, it sucked they all went to bed early, but we got good pictures like

innocent

she is half mexican and half white, and i solemnly swear they are the most beautiful people on earth. She played with the weird falling twig tree very well, and that picture just came out rather well.

tree vains

this picture is just jaw dropping, the tree and how she worked with it is absolutely beautiful. Her look and everything works perfectly, good thing there wasn't anyone there. It was about to clothes in like thirty minutes.

tsunami

this is probably the best out of the collection, most creative i have ever been and beautiful. The hair the, face, WOW. it looks really cool!

Then i did a shoot for a guy name Lavuane Jaye who is a fashion designer, who has a club at school that is called MIT. Models in Transition and he helps aspiring models get prepared for the real deal. So he asked me to do a photoshoot for his models and I agreed, So i went to Upland High School and did a photoshoot with this young girls. The pictures came out so well! Here are my favorite images.

background green

So on saturday i had a photoshoot with Amita Malani. She asked me to do her senior pictures, and i was excited because she has BEAUTIFUL eyes. They are not your everyday eyes. Not only that they stood out in this session. But its funny, because before we even got started we were parked somewhere in the middle of nowhere, chino hills. And I am the type of person who does things until i get told not too.

It was ehh, a cool place so we took pictures and then as we were getting started, she steps in the mud! It was funny, but like great because then one of the people who own the farm was walking towards us. So spent the first ten minutes cleaning her feet.

then the guy came and i was like don't stare at him just continue acting normal. Then he started speaking spanish and i was like GREAT. but i just asked if i can take pictures and he said okay.

so then we go inside the little grass area and we took some cool natural pictures.

green eyes

it was really fun, like we kept rushing everything because another guy came. But i'm so smooth i just talked my way into staying there for another 15 minutes.

then after that we drove off to another location down the street and the sun was setting. It looked really cool because of the sun.

sun beauty

i really satisfied with this photoshoot it was very "senior portrait-ee" without having it be cliche.

Joanne Wang

So over the weekend i did a shoot with Joanne Wang. It was Joannes first time modeling. Tiffany Abeyta had done her hair and make up, and i must say it was one of the most artistic shoots I've worked on. I was fortunate enough to have my dad's office building available as a dressing room and a location to take pictures.

fashionable

We got to LA at around 11 and didn't start taking pictures until 1 or 2. It was fun though, hair and make up took forever, but Tiffany did a GREAT job! We used the garage and the front of his office for the first look. It was very dirty, but it went with the look. We went to the front of the office and took some pictures there and it was really fun, Joanne worked with the camera and did a good job modeling.

blind

I was trying to go for a different type of look, more fashion photography type of stuff and i think i accomplished it. I was pretty impressed with the result and it motivated me to do more and more shoots likes these.

So we were really under time because it was my dads birthday and I had to be at his apartment at a certain time, so the day was a rush. After taking pictures in the front we went to the roof, where i thought i got the BEST pictures of the day.

sun face

theres no denying that Joanne made this picture happen. Its like her and the sun tagged team and made this picture look incredible. I am proud of taking a picture like this, and i really am amazed every time i look at it. I mean we were on the roof and Joanne was just giving me her all.

I also like the clothes she brought, it was PERFECT for the look. Every bit of clothing was hers and they looked pretty cool. Then the prop she brought the umbrella was also pretty creative. The roof was very motivating because everything on it was just perfect. Even considering that it was suppose to rain.

Then we rushed to the Union Station, which by that time it was already sundown and it was dark inside the station. But we literally ran and sat on the couches and took pictures, while everyone was staring and whistling at Joanne. It was creepy.

union station

but Joanne didn't care, she went with it.

then after that we literally ran all the way to the subway and took some pictures there and those came out pretty cool, despite the fact the horrible lighting made it super complicated to take a still photo.

subway

but we got really good pictures there! and straight up Joanne was laughing once the train was there, but then it was about to leave and i told her to be serious and within a second she fastened up. I was like, damn she's really good.

then we went off to the tunnel on 2nd street and that was a little complicated, only because just about every other car howled and whistled at me. No i'm kidding, they were preying on Joanne like she was a piece of meat. But she kept her cool, which was pretty awesome. And we got some really really good pictures.

smooth

overall the photoshoot was a success, everything i wanted to achieve was achieved and thanks to a great team with Joanne and Tiffany, i don't think it could have been done with out them!

Mercyy Ft. Brianna Chocek & Jae Riddle

So yesterday I had a photoshoot with the band Mercyy and two of my friend/models Brianna Chocek and Jae Riddle.

The location was in LA, near fourth street, in the LA River and by the bridges. It was perfect combination between the ban and the all of the graffiti.

I went there about a week before and took some shots and I immediately new we had to do it there.

coolest place

I had some friend that are in cosmetology that were going to help me out and do Jae and Bri's hair and make-up because the theme was 'Punk Rock' 'Rock Stars' but they backed out at the last minute. Bri did the hair and make-up well enough!

Then we met in LA and drove to the location.

bridge over tunnel

After we got out of the sewers we came by a cop who was strange... he asked to take pictures with Bri and Jae.

From there we went on a rooftop of the building that was next to us. I wasn't even sure if it was possible to have gone up there but the pictures came out SO good!

los angeles has no mercyy

Everything was perfect on that day. From there we went down back towards fourth street and got out at this place where we had easy access to trains. One of the cargo trains was open so we took advantage.

little did we know it was some homeless guy's house and we were intruding, he wasn't there, but it was still weird. Especially because we found porn hanging on the wall?
